ALS – also called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, motor neuron disease, and Lou Gehrig‘s disease – is a tragic malady which affects, then destroys, the ability to move and to speak. Universally fatal, the illness has been a subject of study for decades – but research has been at a virtual standstill. Recently the ALS Association has launched the #IceBucketChallenge to stimulate awareness and donations to progress the path to a cure.
Most ALS patients in our county eventually pass through the doors of CoastNeuro. Here, our Electromyography Lab Director, Peter S. Masny, MD, and family, take the Ice Bucket Challenge!
